General Dentistry

 Checkups and hygiene

Regular preventive care helps prevent small issues become big problems down the line. Almost everyone benefits from a yearly check-up and hygiene visit. The frequency of your preventive visits depends on multiple individual factors such as gum health status, caries (decay) risk and how effective your day-to-day dental hygiene measures are. Only a dental examination can determine what care is best for you.

 Treatment of gum disease

Plaque and tartar cling to the teeth, build up over time and can cause irreversible damage to the gums, this is known as periodontal (gum) disease. Your hygienist can help by removing the build-up and advising on effective measures to help keep your mouth healthy. For more information visit https://www.bsperio.org.uk/

 Oral cancer checks

There are over 8700 new oral cancer cases every year in the UK.  Every dental visit includes a dental cancer check. Your dentist will carry out a thorough screening and can refer you urgently for specialist care in case of any concerns. Oral cancer can affect anyone but smoking and alcohol consumption are the most notable risk factors. Get checked out. For more information, click here

 Bruxism & TMJ

Grinding, clenching or muscle tenderness around the jaw joint are common problems. Excessive grinding can lead to tooth wear or fractures. Your dentist is well placed to recommend the most effective treatment modality.

 Children’s dentistry

Dental disease is mostly avoidable. When problems such as caries (decay) or gum conditions are picked up early in life, it is often much easier to treat and prevent progression.

 Tooth extraction & surgery

When all else fails and your tooth is beyond treatment, you need a suitably skilled dentist to carefully remove it. We can look after you and regularly support nervous patients.

 Emergency care

Dental issues generally get worse over time even if you feel no pain initially. If you leave a painless cracked filling unaddressed, you are risking needing more treatment to put it right. Delaying treatment, generally results in reduced treatment options and worse long-term outcomes. We regularly help anxious patients with urgent dental needs.
